Following the global launch of McLaren Automotive in 2010, the 12C was the first model to come from the factory and did so in 2011. The following year came the 12C Spider and limited edition McLaren P1 ™ entered production in 2013. In line with the plan to introduce a brand new model every year, the company released the 650S and its variant spider in 2014. Now it is the Sport Series, a model of access to the brand.
With record sales that managed to place 1,648 units in 2014, McLaren now intends to push this figure with a model he calls 570S Coupe.
Today we had almost privileged access to the first details of McLaren 570S Coupe. This pure sport has the DNA of McLaren and has optimized its design and performance to be just above the competition but presented as the version of access to the range of the brand.
McLaren has commented that the performance of 570S Coupe is impressive. With 570 hp and its lightweight construction the brand achieved a power / weight leading 434 hp per ton ratio.
The 570S is able to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 3.2 seconds and accelerate from 0-200 km / h in 9.5 seconds. The model can reach a top speed of 328 km / h.
The Coupé is the first of the Sport Series and the last to mount the latest evolution of the design philosophy of McLaren. Its aerodynamic shape can be admired at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday.
The Sport Series has evolved biturbo V8 engine 3.8-liter, named M838TE. This engine has 30 percent of tailor-made components for the new model. Designed by McLaren this engine produces 570PS at 7,400 rpm and 600 Nm torque d 5.000 to 6.500 rpm.
All the power is transferred to the rear wheels through a seven-speed SSG. To stop the beast's mark has mounted a stunning brakes that try to hide behind some alloy wheels fitted to P Zero Corse tires in size 225/35 Serial / R19 on the front and 285/35 / R20 in back.
The carbon fiber chassis Monocle II is incredibly strong and stiff and still weighs less than 80 kg and offers optimal levels of protection. This lightweight structure and use of body panel’s aluminum, contributing to a dry weight of 1,313 kg, almost 150 kg lighter than its nearest competitor.
